ICON Multiplatform overview

Different handpieces for different skin concerns.

ICON is a multi-application platform that supports IPL and laser treatment pathways. The handpiece selected determines the wavelength, depth and concern being addressed.

At South Yarra, a practitioner assesses the skin and identifies whether an ICON handpiece—or another device—is appropriate. Treatment suitability and recovery vary by application.

What ICON Multiplatform may address

Start with the concern—not the machine.

Treatment areas, settings and expected responses are selected after assessment. Outcomes vary between individuals.

01

Pigment and photodamage

Selected brown spots and sun-related changes.

02

Vascular concerns

Selected visible vessels and redness-related concerns.

03

Scars and texture

Selected acne or surgical scar concerns.

04

Stretch marks

The 1540 nm fractional handpiece may be considered for selected stretch marks.

How it works

A flexible platform combining IPL and fractional laser options.

ICON supports different handpieces for specific treatment pathways. Optimised pulsed light may be selected for certain pigment or vascular concerns, while fractional non-ablative laser treatment may be considered for scars, texture or stretch marks.

The 1540 nm fractional handpiece creates microscopic treatment zones intended to support remodelling while leaving surrounding tissue untreated.

What does “multiplatform” mean?

ICON can use different light and laser handpieces. The selected handpiece determines the concern, wavelength and treatment approach.

What is the ICON 1540 handpiece?

It is a fractional non-ablative 1540 nm laser handpiece that may be considered for selected scars, texture and stretch marks.

Can ICON be used for pregnancy stretch marks?

Established stretch marks that developed during pregnancy may be assessed after pregnancy. Treatment is not performed during pregnancy, and suitability depends on individual circumstances.

How are ICON and Vivace connected?

Both may be considered for selected stretch marks and texture concerns, but they use different technologies. ICON 1540 is fractional laser; Vivace is RF microneedling.

Is downtime the same for every ICON treatment?

No. Recovery depends on the handpiece, settings, area and individual skin response.
